10 Day Amphibian Photography Tour

Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco – Pona Lodge

Activities of the day: today we will start with our journey at 5am by car towards the Jungle of Manu National Park, along the way we will do some bird photography and do some amphibian photography at night.
Target species of the day: Clown Tree Frogs, White-lined leaf frog, fer-de-lance

Day 2: Pona Lodge all Day

Activities of the day: During the day as well as at night we will explore the area around the lodge.
Target species of the day: Clown Tree Frogs, White-lined leaf frog, fer-de-lance

Day 3: Pona Lodge – Mashko Lodge

Activities of the day: This day we will drive towards Atalaya Port and from there we will head to our second lodge by boat. Along the way we will stop in specific location to search for two species of poison frogs.
Target species of the day: Manu Posion Frog, Spotted-thighed Poison Frog and Polka-dot Tree Frog

Day 4: Mashko Lodge all day

Activities of the day: Around the lodge we will search for several species of tree frogs including some terrestrial frogs and toads.
Target species of the day: Amarakaeri Poison Frog, Spotted-thighed Poison and Polka-dot Tree Frog

Day 5: Mashko Lodge – Papaya Lodge

Activities of the day: This day we will leave the lodge after breakfast and head to our next lodge by boat. At the lodge after accommodate our selves we will start exploring the area.
Target species of the day: we will search for terrestrial as well as arboreal frogs

Day 6, 7, 8, 9: Papaya Lodge all day

Activities of the day: In the area there is a small oxbow lake, secondary forest as well as terra firme forest. At the area we will mainly photograph tree frogs and terrestrial species of frogs.
Target species: Spotted-thighed Poison, Pale-striped Poison Frog (Ameerega hahneli), Polka-dot tree frog, leaf frogs as Phyllomedusa palliate, Amazonian horned frog, Filomedusa-de-Vaillant

Day 10: Papaya Lodge – Cusco

This day we will start with our journey back to Cusco, we will arrive to Cusco between 4pm to 8pm.
